Pintail Plumage
At a distance, Pintails look almost black-and white, and other than their interesting shape, they don’t appear too interesting as far as color and pattern. But up close, they have absolutely beautiful plumage with rich colors and patterns. Much of this beauty cannot be seen in many of the bird’s postures, but this one, having just stretched its wings, is caught while reorganizing its feathers, and the richness and variety are nicely shown.
