The Peter Iredale

This wreckage has gradually deteriorated over time from when I was a child and could climb over the entire length of the ship to what is now a beautifully colored remnant which almost resembles an abstract work of sculptural art. The ship was a four-masted steel barque sailing vessel that ran ashore October 25, 1906 carrying cargo bound for Astoria up the Columbia River, which is about four miles north of this site.
