Silver Falls State Park, Oregon Autumn

With the dry end of summer and sudden onset of rains, the progression of autumn colors has been a bit unusual this year, and yet the magic of a walk in Silver Falls State Park is still evident. As these photos show, many of the Bigleaf Maple leaves turned brown and fell, but others are now bright yellow, and the vine maples, though mottled with brown, still create beautiful illumination effects in the forest.
